Very Welcome Rain!

After the longest dry season we can remember Grenada is finally getting some rain this May. Our gardens are starting to look better and the whole of Grenada is getting back its lovely lush green look. The drought in the Eastern Caribbean islands this year was very severe, so we are extremely happy to have a bit of rain. If you are coming on holiday some time soon, don't worry, the rain only last for few minutes and then we have our much loved sunshine back. Unfortunately we have lost several trees to the drought; these will be replaced as soon as young trees are available from the local nursery.

New Waterfront Suites to be ready for next winter season

The big news this summer is the remodeling of our old Waterfront Apartments. They were built 20 years ago and were the only rooms not to have a major renovation in recent years. Available for bookings from next December 2010, these absolutely beautifully designed Waterfront Suits are going to feature a truly spectacular view of True Blue Bay (have a pic preview) and of course the allure and relaxed look that characterizes our resort.

These ten new suites will feature one and two floor lodging; the ground floor will contain a fully outfitted kitchen, comfortable and stylish living room and roomy viewing veranda with lavish sunbeds. On the second floor, an ample well appointed bedroom with choice of king or twin beds, generous bathroom and a second veranda with comfy chairs to enjoy the splendid view. Once again Magdalena is working her charm at choosing comfortable and unique furnishings and decor to make these suits some of the most desirable rooms in Grenada and of course Russ is looking at building the rooms with all the latest green orientated energy saving technologies and building environmentally friendly materials. (He is also trying to make sure that the rooms are completed on time-watch this space to follow our progress)

A plan is already in motion to upgrade our reception area, to offer our future guests a more comfortable and friendly area to relax, book their car rental, use our internet facilities and in general organize their time in Grenada with the help of our concierge. Friendly and efficient staff, customer friendly furnishings, cool breeze and our traditional friendly Grenadian atmosphere is the focus in designing this new space.

Kids Playground

A new kid's playground with fun elements for small children will be ready to be tested by our little guest this 2010 summer. Located by the Bay View pool. Remember we also have a small playground available by the restaurant area.

Cooking Lessons

Esther and Omega are having a great time presenting our weekly Thursday Grenadian Cooking demonstration. Full of good ideas and great cooking tips this great team is being very successful and popular with our participating guests, especially when it comes to try their delicious creations. New Kids Book about a Grenada Adventure:

A tale of friendship, trust, and sharing. Set in Grenada, this kids book chronicles the relationship between a four-year old boy, Myles, and the creatures with whom he shares his Grenada vacation home. Written by Brad Martin retired Chairman and CEO of retailer, Saks Incorporated. "My goal in writing MYLES' PESKY FRIENDS was to bring attention and focus to the wonderful country of Grenada. My family and I have greatly enjoyed our experiences as part-time citizens and want to help tell the world about the special people and places of Grenada". Magdalena is working with Brad on the distribution of this lovely book. All proceeds (the Martin family and RIVR Media) generated from the sale of MYLES' PESKY FRIENDS in Grenada will be devoted to the expansion of the facilities and programming of the "Queen Elizabeth Home" for children.
